Press Release, for release on October 8, 2026
Jyväskylä Yritystehdas will move to new premises at Hippos in the summer of 2027. The move is also part of Yritystehdas’ strategic renewal: it will strengthen our role in supporting companies with growth potential and as part of Jyväskylä’s broader business and innovation ecosystem.
The move is part of a broader development in Jyväskylä
The move is linked to the Jyväskylä Model, which aims to strengthen the city’s vitality, business activity, and employment, as well as to bring the region’s expertise, research, and businesses even more closely together. The city’s plans for 2027 also include expanding the services offered by Yritystehdas. A pathway is being developed within the service model, leading from a pre-incubator to an incubator and on to an accelerator program that supports growth and internationalization.
Hippos brings businesses, research, and experts together in a single environment
Yritystehdas’s future facilities will be located in the Hippos Center of Excellence, which, according to the current schedule, is set to be completed in the summer of 2027. The Center of Excellence will house companies and startups, as well as research, development, and innovation activities, and educational programs.
Hippos is strongly associated with sports and physical activity. Yritystehdas fits naturally into the Hippos environment, as elite sports and the startup world are united by ambition, continuous development, performance, and the importance of the surrounding community and the right experts. Yritystehdas brings to Hippos its own multidisciplinary community of entrepreneurs and startups, as well as coaching and networks for growth companies.
The business and innovation ecosystem currently taking shape around Hippos – and, for example, the Hippos-Sport accelerator – serve as a hub for Yritystehdas within the broader Jyväskylä expertise and innovation network.
Services will continue as usual
Yritystehdas’s coaching programs and other services will continue as usual and seamlessly even during the move. We will provide more updates on the move and the progress of the Hippos project as plans become more concrete.
