11.2.2025 Idea to Business (conducted in English)

Do you have a business idea or innovation? Are you considering setting up a company? Now you have an opportunity to develop your idea under the coaching of our experts!

Workshop themes include: identification of one’s own entrepreneurial capabilities, description of the product/service idea, insight on potential customers, preliminary survey of the current market situation and preliminary profitability calculation and business plan.

The content of the course will be specified in greater detail and additional emphasis will be added in response to the participants’ business ideas. At the pre-incubator, you will have an opportunity to meet students from different fields and witness the development of the other participants’ business ideas as well! Additionally, we will practice the presentation of business ideas, known as pitching. Idea to Business will be conducted in English and it lasts 10 weeks.

Can be chosen at any point of studies (5 cr)

The coaching is open to
  • Students, researchers and staff members of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and the University of Jyväskylä with a business idea.
  • Those studying at Gradia through EduFutura, as well as through an Open university of Jyväskylä University of applied sciences or Open University of Jyväskylä, can also apply for coaching.
  • Jamk and Jyu* alumni one year after graduation
  • *Jyu students graduating after 1.8.2023 are entitled to complete the Idea to Business coaching 2 years after graduation.

Schedule

Idea to Business lasts 10 weeks and is held on Tuesdays 11.2.-29.4.2025 at 8:30-12:00. The course is conducted in English.

Please note that there are no lessons on week 9.
